WHAT IS STREFEN
Strefen are a lozenge containing flurbiprofen as active ingredient.
This compound is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that reduces pain and inflammation.
Strefen is indicated in adults and children from 12 years old to relieve irritation, inflammation and sore throat.

COMPOSITION
- Active ingredient: flurbiprofen. Each tablet contains 8.75 mg Strefen flurbiprofen.
- Excipients: glucose, sucrose, potassium hydroxide, macrogol, levomenthol, lemon flavoring and honey.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Check with your doctor before taking Strefen if:
- If you are allergic to flurbiprofen, aspirin, other NSAIDs or any other part of Strefen.
- If you suffer or have suffered from asthma.
- If you have high blood pressure, heart problems or kidney or liver failure.
- If the patient is a smoker, diabetic or have high cholesterol levels.
- If you have or have had stomach or duodenal ulcers.
- If you are suffering from a bacterial infection.
- If you have autoimmune disease.
- If you suffer from frequent headaches or skin diseases.
- If you are currently being treated with any other medications, especially: NSAIDs, antihypertensives, diuretics, anticoagulants, gout, corticosteroids, mifepristone, quinolone, tacrolimus, cyclosporine, phenytoin, methotrexate, selective inhibitors of serotonin reuptake, lithium, antibiabéticos, zidovudine .
- If the patient is a child less than 12 years old or a pregnant woman, especially if in the last trimester of pregnancy.
Elderly patients are more likely to suffer adverse reactions to this medicine.
Do not take alcohol while being treated with Strefen.
Strefen contains glucose and sucrose, bear in mind in the case of patients with intolerance to these sugars.

CHILDREN
Do not administer to children under 12 years old.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Strefen can affect the fertility of women, especially if used in long term treatment.
Pregnant women in the first 6 months of pregnancy or who are in nursing should consult with your doctor before taking this medicine.
Women in the third trimester of pregnancy should not use Strefen.

POSOLOGY
- Adults and children from 12 years old: dissolve slowly in the mouth of Strefen 1 tablet every 3 to 5 hours as needed.
You must move the tablet by mouth as this will dissolve.
Do not take more than 5 pills a day.
Relief of symptoms usually appear within 30 minutes.
The duration of treatment is recommended 3 days. Do not use Strefen prolonged treatment.
- Children under 12 years old: Do not administer.

ADVERSE EFFECTS
Elderly patients are more likely to suffer adverse reactions to this medicine.
You must stop taking Strefen and consult with your doctor if any of the following side effects:
- Intestinal bleeding (blood may appear in the stool or vomit).
- Allergic reactions: itching, asthma, swelling of the face, tongue and lips and shortness of breath.
Adverse effects reported for this medicine are:
. Very common: itching and burning in the mouth.
. Common: stomach pain, diarrhea, dry mouth, canker sores.
. Uncommon: Flatulence, indigestion, vomiting, dizziness, headache and skin redness.
. Rare: Drowsiness, insomnia, difficulty breathing, fever, impaired clotting time, pale skin, weakness, bruising, peptic ulcers.
. Very rare: Jaundice and severe skin disorders.

OVERDOSE
The most common symptoms in case of accidental ingestion or overdose are nausea and vomiting; digestive problems, diarrhea and even intestinal bleeding; headache and tinnitus.
