What is VapoRub and what is it used for?
VapoRub is an ointment used for the symptomatic relief of cough and nasal congestion associated with cold and flu. It can be used directly on the skin (cutaneous use) or diluted in hot water for vapor inhalation.
You should see a doctor if it worsens or if it does not improve after 7 days

How to use VapoRub
Follow exactly the instructions for administration of the medicine contained in this leaflet or those indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults and children over 6 years
- Cutaneous use: Apply a thin layer of ointment on the chest, neck and back. Contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. Repeat the application up to 3 times a day. Wear loose clothing to facilitate inhalation of vapors.
- Inhalation: Add a tablespoon of VapoRub in a container of hot (not boiling) water. Breathe the vapors for 10-15 minutes
Caution: Neither VapoRub nor the mixture should ever be reheated in the microwave.
Children should always be under adult supervision while using this medicine.
VapoRub is for external use only. The recommended dose should not be exceeded. It should not be swallowed or applied to the nostrils or face. It should not be applied to damaged or wounded skin.
It should not be used for more than 7 consecutive days. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Use in children
VapoRub is contraindicated in children under 6 years of age.
