What Propalgina Plus is and what it is used for
It is an association of paracetamol, effective in reducing pain and fever; dextromethorphan, which inhibits the cough reflex; chlorphenamine, which is an antihistamine, with drying effect on the lining of the nose; phenylephrine, which is a nasal decongestant, and vitamin C.

This medicine is indicated for the symptomatic relief of catarrhal and flu processes that occur with mild or moderate pain, fever, unproductive cough, congestion and runny nose, in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.

You should see a doctor if it worsens or does not improve after 3 days of treatment, in the case of fever, or 5 days, in the case of pain.

How to take Propalgina Plus
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years old:
Take 1 sachet every 4 to 6 hours (6 to 4 times a day), as needed. In no case will more than 6 sachets (3 g of paracetamol) be taken in 24 hours. See section Warnings and precautions.

Adolescents between 12 and 14 years old: Administer 1 out of every 6 hours. In no case will more than 4 sachets (2 g of paracetamol) be taken in 24 hours.

Liver disease patients
Before taking this medicine they have to consult their doctor.
They must take the amount of medication prescribed by their doctor, with a minimum interval between each intake of 8 hours.
They should not take more than 3 sachets (1.5 g of paracetamol) in 24 hours, divided into 3 doses.

Kidney disease patients
Before taking this medicine they have to consult their doctor.
Take a maximum of 1 sachet (0.5 g of paracetamol) per dose.
Depending on your illness, your doctor will tell you if you should take your medicine with a minimum interval of 6 or 8 hours.

This medicine is taken orally.
Completely dissolve the contents of the envelope in a glass of water (cold or hot).
Taking the medicine with food and drink, except grapefruit or bitter orange juice and alcoholic beverages, does not affect its effectiveness.
Always take the lowest dose that is effective.
Taking the medicine is subject to the appearance of flu or catarrhal symptoms for which this medicine is indicated. As these disappear, you must stop treatment.
If the pain persists for more than 5 days, the fever for more than 3 days or the pain or fever worsens or other symptoms appear, you should stop the treatment and consult your doctor.
For a sore throat, the medicine should not be taken more than 2 days in a row without consulting a doctor.
