What Tossevo is and what it is used for
This medicine contains levodropropizine and belongs to a group of medicines called antitussives.
Levodropropizine is indicated in:
Treatment of unproductive forms of cough, such as irritative cough or nervous cough in adults, adolescents and children over 2 years of age.

You should see a doctor if it worsens or does not improve after 4 days.

How to take Tossevo
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Measure the quantity of medicine to be administered using the measuring cup that is included in the package.
Once used, wash the glass with water.
It should not be administered with food.

Cough suppressants are symptomatic medications and should only be used while symptoms persist.
It is not advisable to use the medicine more than 7 days.
If the patient worsens or symptoms persist after 4 days of treatment, treatment should be discontinued and the patient's clinical situation should be evaluated.

The recommended dose is:

- 10 ml every 6-8 hours. Do not administer more than 3 times a day.

Use in children and adolescents
- Children under 2 years: They should not take this medicine.
- Children from 2 to 6 years old: Only under medical supervision.
- Adolescents and children from 6 years: The dose is calculated according to the weight of the patient, administering 1 mg per kg / dose, every 6-8 hours. No more than 3 takes in 24 hours.

Amount of medication to administer:
 + Children between 10 and 15 kg: 2.5 ml 3 times a day.
 + Children between 16 and 20 kg: 3 ml 3 times a day.
 + Children between 21 and 30 kg: 5 ml 3 times a day.
 + Adolescents between 31 and 45 kg: 7.5 ml 3 times a day.
 + Adolescents over 45 kg: 10 ml 3 times a day.
unless the doctor establishes another regimen, but in no case will it be administered more than 10 ml 3 times a day.

Elderly patients
Elderly patients do not require adjustments or modifications in the dosage regimen, however special care should be taken when administering this medication and assess their clinical situation.

If you take more Tossevo than you should
You may experience light, transient tachycardia (increased heart rate). Consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

If you forget to take Tossevo
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
