What Gelocatil Plus is and what it is used for

Gelocatil Plus tablets contain two active ingredients: Paracetamol and Caffeine.

-Paracetamol is effective in reducing pain and fever.

-Caffeine has a stimulating action on the nervous system.

This medication is used for the symptomatic relief of occasional mild or moderate pain, such as headache, dental, muscle pain (contractures) or back pain (low back pain) and in feverish states.

Gelocatil Plus is indicated in adults and adolescents over 16 years of age.

How to take Gelocatil Plus

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. If in doubt, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Always use the lowest dose that is effective.

Adults and adolescents over 16 years of age:

The recommended dose is 1 tablet 1 to 4 times a day, as needed. If necessary, they can administer 2 tablets in a single dose.

It will not exceed 3 grams in 24 hours (6 tablets) divided into 4 doses. The doses should be separated by at least 4 hours.

The use of high daily doses of paracetamol should be avoided for prolonged periods of time since it increases the risk of suffering adverse effects such as liver damage.

The administration of this medicine is subject to the appearance of pain or fever. As these disappear, treatment should be discontinued.

If the pain persists for more than 5 days, the fever for more than 3 days or the pain or fever worsens or other symptoms appear, you should stop the treatment and consult your doctor.

For a sore throat, it should not be administered more than 2 days in a row, without consulting the doctor.

Patients with liver disease: Before taking this medicine, you must consult your doctor.

They must take the amount of medication prescribed by their doctor with a minimum interval of 8 hours between each intake.

They should not take more than 4 tablets (2 g of paracetamol) in 24 hours, divided into 2 doses.

Patients with kidney disease: before taking this medicine, you must consult your doctor who will indicate if the minimum interval between each administration should be 6 or 8 hours. They should take a maximum of 500 mg of paracetamol per dose (1 tablet).

This medicine is administered orally.

The tablets should be swallowed whole or broken in half, with the help of a glass of liquid, preferably water.
