What Dolostop Plus is and what it is used for

This medicine contains paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Acetaminophen prevents pain signals from reaching the brain.

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medications known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Relieves pain and reduces inflammation (swelling, redness, or pain).

Dolostop Plus is used for the occasional symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain.

If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

You should see a doctor if it gets worse or does not improve after 3 days.

How to take Dolostop Plus

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Do not take it for more than 3 days.

The recommended dose is:

Adults: The usual dose is one tablet (500 mg paracetamol and 150 mg ibuprofen) or two tablets (1000 mg paracetamol and 300 mg ibuprofen) every six hours, as needed, up to a maximum of six tablets in 24 hours.

Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary for symptom relief. You should see your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, or if medicine is needed for more than 3 days.

Do not take more than 6 tablets in a 24 hour period.

If the doctor prescribes a different dose, follow the directions provided by the doctor.

Take this medicine with a full glass of water. The slot serves only to divide the tablet and facilitate swallowing, but not to divide it into equal doses.

Use in children and adolescents (under 18 years old)

This medicine is contraindicated in children and adolescents (under 18 years old).

If you take more Dolostop Plus than you should

See a doctor immediately if you have taken too much of this medicine, even if you are well. The reason is that too much acetaminophen can cause late severe liver damage. Do this if you have no signs of discomfort or poisoning. You may need urgent medical attention.

If you have taken more Dolostop Plus than you should, or if a child has accidentally swallowed the medicine, immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist, go to the nearest hospital or call the Toxicology Information service, telephone: 91 562 04 20, indicating the medicine and the amount ingested, to find out about the risk and ask for advice on the measures to be taken.

Overdose symptoms may include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting (which may contain bloody sputum), headache, ringing in the ears, confusion, and involuntary eye movement. Symptoms of drowsiness, chest pain, palpitations, loss of consciousness, seizures (mainly in children), weakness and dizziness, blood in the urine, chills and trouble breathing have been reported at high doses.

If you forget to take Dolostop Plus

If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the scheduled time. If not, take it as soon as you remember and keep taking the tablets as usual.

Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you are not sure whether or not to skip the dose, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
