By inhibiting the cough reflex, Flutox is indicated to treat dry cough (irritative or nerve) in adults and children over 2 years old
What Flutox is and what it is used for
Chloperastine, the active substance in this medicine, is an antitussive that inhibits the cough reflex. Flutox is a medicine indicated for the treatment of unproductive forms of cough, such as irritative cough or nervous cough for adults and children from 2 years.
You should see a doctor if it worsens or does not improve after 7 days of treatment.
How to take Flutox
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
In adults and adolescents over 12 years: 10 ml, 3 times a day
In children:
Between 7 and 12 years: 5 ml, 2 times a day
Between 5 and 6 years: 3 ml, 2 times a day.
Between 2 and 4 years: 2 ml, 2 times a day.
Flutox is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.
How to drink:
Shake the bottle before using it.
This medicine is taken orally
Measure the amount of medicine you need to take with the measuring cup included in the package.
If you take more Flutox than you should
Symptoms of overdose are: Excitation and shortness of breath.
If you have taken more Flutox than you should, immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist or call the toxicology information service 91 562 04 20 indicating the medicine and the amount taken.
If you forget to take Flutox
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
This treatment is symptomatic if you do not have a cough, do not take it and if you do have it again, take the medicine as indicated in section 3. How to take Flutox.
