Antitussive and expectorant syrup for the treatment of unproductive cough
What Bronco Medical is and what it is used for
It is indicated for the relief of cough and facilitate the expulsion of excess mucus and phlegm in adults and children from 6 years.
Dextromethorphan is an antitussive that inhibits the cough reflex. Sulfoguayacholate is an expectorant that facilitates the removal of mucus.
You should see your doctor if it worsens or does not improve after 7 days.
How to take Bronco Medical
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse tells you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist or nurse.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and children over 12 years: Take 5 ml to 10 ml every 6 hours. Depending on the intensity of the cough, every 4 hours if necessary. Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours.
The maximum amount that they can take in 24 hours is 60 ml divided into several doses.
Children from 6 to 12 years old: Take 2.5 ml to 5 ml, depending on the intensity of the cough, every 4 hours if necessary. Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours
The maximum amount that they can take in 24 hours is 30 ml divided into several doses.
Always use the lowest effective dose.
In liver patients, the dose should be reduced by half, in no case exceeding the dose of 4 daily doses.
Rules for correct administration
Bronco Medical is taken orally.
Included in the package is a measuring cup. In this way, you can measure the amount of medicine to take in the cup according to the information mentioned above.
Shake it before using.
To open, press and turn the cap at the same time.
Pour the exact dose into the measuring cup.
It can be taken with or without food.
Do not take with grapefruit or bitter orange juice or alcoholic beverages (See section: Taking Bronco Medical with food or drink).
If the cough worsens, persists after 7 days of treatment, or is accompanied by a high fever, skin rash, or persistent headache, see your doctor.
Use in children and adolescents
Do not administer to children under 6 years of age.
