What Linitul Ointment is and what it is used for
It belongs to a group of medicines that are used as healing agents, and works by stimulating blood flow and reducing desiccation in the affected area.
Linitul Ointment is indicated to promote wound healing, pressure ulcers (decubitus) and varicose ulcers.
How to use Linitul Ointment
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
-Adults:
Spread a thin layer of ointment on the affected area at least 2 times a day, and can be repeated when necessary.
Cutaneous use (on the skin).
After applying the ointment, the area can be covered with a protective bandage. The area should be gently washed with cleansing solution (such as saline) when the ointment is renewed. Repeat the operation when necessary.
Use in children and adolescents
There are no data on its use in children.
If you use more Linitul Ointment than you should
An overdose is unlikely with normal use.
However in case of accidental ingestion it can produce nausea, vomiting, colic and severe diarrhea.
In case of accidental ingestion, immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist or go to a medical center, or call the Toxicological Information Service, Telephone 91 562 04 20, indicating the product and the amount ingested.
If you forget to use Linitul Ointment
Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
