1. WHAT IS VALDISPERT COMPLEX AND WHAT IT IS USED
Valdispert Complex is a herbal medicine belongs to a group of hypnotics and sedatives in combination excluding barbiturates (to help you sleep and relax) medicines called.
It is indicated for relief of mild stress (situations of nervousness, irritability) and sleep disorders.
2. BEFORE YOU TAKE VALDISPERT COMPLEX
Do not take Valdispert Complex if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to extract valerian root, passionflower extract or any of the other ingredients of Valdispert Complex.
It is not recommended to administer this medicine to children under 12 years old.
This medicine contains sucrose. If your doctor has told you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
Using other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
This medicine may reinforce the effect of other sedatives, tranquilizers or sleeping medicines, so if you are being treated with any of them consult your doctor before taking it.
Taking Valdispert Complex with food and drinks
Alcohol may potentiate the effect of this medicine, so should avoid excessive consumption.
Pregnancy and lactation
As a general precaution and because no data are available on its use during pregnancy and lactation, its use is not recommended in such situations.
IMPORTANT FOR WOMEN: If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Medicine use during pregnancy can be dangerous for the embryo or fetus and should be monitored by your doctor.
Driving and using machines
This medicine may cause drowsiness. Do not drive or use machinery if you feel drowsy or if you notice your attention or responsiveness are reduced.
3. HOW TO TAKE VALDISPERT COMPLEX
Valdispert Complex is administered orally.
Follow these instructions unless your doctor or pharmacist has given you different indications. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have doubts.
Adolescents over 12 years old, adults, elderly:
- Relief of mild nervous tension: 1-2 tablets at any time of day, and if necessary, may be given a new dose (1-2 tablets) before bedtime.
- Sleep disorders: 1-2 tablets before bedtime.
Due to the gradual appearance of the effects of valerian root, its use is not suitable for the treatment of acute cases of nervousness and insomnia. To achieve the desired effect a treatment duration of 2-4 weeks is recommended.
The recommended treatment is 4 weeks, however if you observe that within 2 weeks your symptoms do not improve or worsen should consult your doctor or pharmacist.
If you take more than you should Valdispert Complex
If Valdispert Complex has taken more than you should, immediately consult your doctor or your pharmacist.
Valerian root at a dose of approximately 20 g caused benign symptoms (fatigue, abdominal cramps, chest tightness, dizziness, hand tremor and mydriasis), which disappeared within 24 hours.
If these symptoms monitoring should be performed and appropriate supportive measures employed.
In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, seek medical center stating the product and the amount ingested or call poison control center, call +34 91 562 04 20.
If you forget to take Valdispert Complex
Do not take a double dose to make up for missed doses.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Valdispert Complex can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Adverse reactions are rare, although the most common are headaches and gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and abdominal cramps, which may occur after ingestion of valerian root preparations. the frequency is unknown.
Has reported a case of allergy (hypersensitivity) occurred in which inflammation of the blood vessels (vasculitis) and one of nausea and tachycardia (increased heart beat) with the use of passionflower. the frequency is unknown.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
5. HOW TO STORE VALDISPERT COMPLEX
It does not require any special storage conditions. Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Complex Valdispert Do not use after the expiration date on the carton after EXP. The expiry date is the last day of that month.
6. FURTHER INFORMATION Valdispert Complex
Each tablet contains as active ingredients:
- 60 mg of dry ethanol extract granulated root Valeriana officinalis (equivalent to 180-360 mg of valerian root). Extraction solvent: ethanol 70% v / v.
- 30 mg of dry purple passionflower (equivalent to 150-210 mg of Passiflora) ethanol extract. Extraction solvent: 60% ethanol v / v.
- The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose (E-460), anhydrous colloidal silica (E-551), magnesium stearate (E-572), talc (E-553b), shellac, vinylpyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymer, povidone, carmellose sodium, sucrose, titanium dioxide (E 171), kaolin, white beeswax, carnauba wax.
