What Green Tantum is and what it is used for
Green Tantum contains the active substance benzydamine hydrochloride which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
It is a medicine for oropharyngeal use with analgesic activity.
It is used for the symptomatic local relief of pain and irritation of the throat, mouth and gums that are feverless, in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
If symptoms worsen or last more than 2 days or irritation appears, treatment should be discontinued and the doctor should be consulted.
How to use Green Tantum
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
This medicine is for oropharyngeal use. It is applied by rinsing in case of mouth conditions or by gargling in case of throat conditions.
Brush your teeth and rinse toothpaste residue thoroughly before using this medicine.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents over 12 years old:
Pour 15 ml of green Tantum up to the –mL15- signal of the dosing cup. And if you want to use diluted, fill with water up to the -mL30- signal of the dosing cup.
Rinse / gargle for 30 seconds, 2 or 3 times a day.
Wash the measuring cup after each use.
Do not exceed the indicated doses.
You should not eat or drink until after 1 hour of using the medicine.
Prolonged use of the drug can lead to sensitization phenomena. If symptoms persist for more than 2 days, fever or other symptoms worsen, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.
Use in children
It should not be used in children under 12 years old.
If you use more Green Tantum than you should:
Due to its oropharyngeal use, it is unlikely that symptoms of poisoning will occur. However, if you use more green Tantum than recommended, even if very rarely, you may feel: excitement, seizures, sweating, gait disturbances, tremors and vomiting in children.
In case of overdose or accidental ingestion of large amounts of medication, immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice. You can also call the Toxicological Information Service, telephone 91 562 04 20, indicating the medicine and the amount ingested.
