What Strepsils is and what it is used for
Strepsils belongs to the group of medicines called antiseptics.
It is used for the symptomatic local relief of mild infections of the mouth and throat that occur without fever, in adults and children from 6 years.
You should see a doctor if it gets worse or does not improve after 2 days.
How to take Strepsils
Always use Strepsils exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
Adults: 1 pill every 2 or 3 hours, when necessary, up to a maximum of 8 pills in 24 hours.
Children
Children from 6 years: 1 pill every 2 or 3 hours, when necessary, up to a maximum of 4 pills in 24 hours.
Not recommended for children under 6 years old.
How to take Strepsils:
Use oropharyngeal, to dissolve in the mouth.
Slowly dissolve a lozenge to suck into your mouth.
Do not swallow, chew or bite.
If it does not improve, if it worsens after 2 days of treatment or you have a high fever, headache, nausea or vomiting; You should consult the doctor.
If you take more Strepsils than you should
In case of overdose or accidental ingestion of large amounts you may notice gastrointestinal upset. In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, consult your doctor or pharmacist or call the Toxicological Information Service, telephone 91.562.04.20, indicating the medicine and the amount ingested.
