What Nicorette Ice Mint 4 mg medicated gum is and what it is used for
It is indicated as an aid for smokers over 18 years of age who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day and who, being determined to quit tobacco, may suffer the unpleasant effects associated with quitting this addiction: irritability, anxiety, "tobacco hunger" , insomnia or constipation, mainly.

Due to its nicotine content, it reduces the unpleasant withdrawal effects that are usually felt when quitting smoking, but it does not give you the same satisfaction as a cigarette. Therefore, to quit tobacco, you must count on your conviction, decision and will power.

You should see a doctor if it worsens or does not improve after 6 months.

How to take Nicorette Ice Mint 4 mg medicated gum
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

People over 18 years old
Only one chewing gum will be used at a time and you should not use another one until after 1 or 2 hours. Generally, 8 to 12 pieces are used per day. You should not exceed 24 chewing gums a day.
The duration of treatment depends on the needs of each smoker, and its abrupt suppression is not convenient, since this could favor a return to tobacco addiction. It is preferable to reduce the dose gradually. For example: every 4 or 5 days, reduce daily consumption by one or two chewing gums, until you only consume 1 or 2 chewing gums a day. This can be accomplished in 2 to 3 months. Treatment should not be definitively discontinued until the dose stabilizes in 1 or 2 gum daily.
Regular use of chewing gum for more than 6 months is not recommended.
If you have not successfully stopped treatment after 6 months, you should consult your doctor. The doctor may advise you, depending on your situation, the use of chewing gum in a timely manner in case of sudden desire to smoke.
If you feel that the action of Nicorette 4 mg is too strong or weak, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Use in children and adolescents
It should not be used in children under 18 years of age without a doctor's recommendation, as even small amounts of nicotine are dangerous to children and can produce severe symptoms of poisoning, which can be fatal.

How to chew Nicorette chewing gum
When you feel like smoking, put a piece of gum in your mouth and chew it slowly until you notice a strong taste. Then place it between your cheek and gum, and when the flavor diminishes, slowly chew the gum again and repeat the operation for 30 minutes to gradually release the nicotine.

The gum must be chewed as directed to release the nicotine and allowed to sit so that the nicotine can be absorbed into the mouth. The nicotine that is swallowed with saliva is not beneficial and in excess it can irritate the throat or cause stomach upset, for example hiccups, to avoid this, chewing should be slow.

It should not exceed the recommended dose.
